Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit, Educational Qualifications, and Experience
Age Limit: Not exceeding 55 years as on 07.07.2025 (relaxable up to five years for employees of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation and the Government Servants, in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government from time to time).
Educational Qualifications (For General Disciplines):
A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in Section 13 (3) of the said Act.)
A postgraduate medical qualification i.e., Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Master of Surgery (MS) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective subject or allied discipline.
Experience:
Fourteen years of teaching experience and / or research experience in a recognized institution in the concerned specialty or subject, after obtaining the qualifying degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Master of Surgery (MS) or qualification equivalent thereto.
Minimum of ten years teaching experience as Professor or Associate Professor or Reader in a Medical College, out of which at least five years should be as Professor in a Department.
Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Selection Board in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. The experience should be recognized by the Medical Council of India or the statutory body concerned with the system of medicine as valid teaching experience for teaching posts.
