Educational requirements are specific. You must possess a full-time degree from a recognized university or institute. IRCTC accepts any of the following qualifications:
B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration.
BBA or MBA in Culinary Arts.
B.Sc. in Hotel Management and Catering Science.
M.B.A. in Tourism and Hotel Management.
Your degree must be from an institute affiliated with NCHM&CT, UGC, AICTE, or the Government of India.
Age Limit and Experience Requirements
The age limit correlates with your professional experience as of September 1, 2026. IRCTC has designed a tiered entry system.

Remuneration and Allowances
The base pay is a consolidated CTC of Rs. 30,000 per month. However, the take-home amount increases with field duties.
Daily Allowance: Rs. 350 per day for on-board duty. You get 100% for shifts over 12 hours.
Lodging: Rs. 240 for outstation night stays.
National Holiday Allowance: Rs. 384 per worked holiday.
Medical Insurance: Reimbursement up to Rs. 1,400 or Rs. 2,000 per month depending on your age.
Selection Process for IRCTC Recruitment 2026
Forget written exams. This is a direct recruitment. You must attend a walk-in interview with a completed application form. The HR panel will evaluate your credentials and interview performance to create a merit list.
Selected candidates must pass a medical fitness test. A reserve panel of 22 candidates will also be maintained. Note that a security deposit of Rs. 25,000 is mandatory via Demand Draft upon selection. You must complete at least one year of service to avoid forfeiting this deposit.
