Eligibility Criteria for IPRC Career Vacancy 2026
Educational requirements are strict. You must have acquired these qualifications from a recognized Board or University before the closing date.
Technical Assistant
You need a First Class Diploma in the relevant engineering branch (Automobile, Mechanical, Production, Electronics, or Instrumentation).
Technician 'B'
You must have passed 10th Std (SSLC/Matric). You also need an ITI/NTC/NAC certificate from NCVT in the specific trade mentioned (e.g., Fitter, Welder, Electrician).
Cook and Fireman
Cook 'A': 10th Pass with 5 years of experience in a well-established hotel or canteen.
Fireman 'A': 10th Pass and must meet specific physical fitness standards. You also need a Preliminary Medical Examination certificate.

Selection Process Breakdown
The selection happens in two distinct stages. The final merit list depends entirely on your performance in the written test.
Written Test: An offline OMR-based exam held in Tirunelveli and Chennai.
TA & Technician: 80 Multiple Choice Questions (90 minutes). 1 mark for correct, 0.33 deduction for wrong.
Cook & Fireman: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (120 minutes). 1 mark for correct, 0.25 deduction for wrong.
Skill Test: This is a "Go/No-Go" qualifying test. It will not add to your final score, but you must pass it to be considered. For Fireman 'A', this includes a rigorous Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Here is the catch regarding refunds. If you appear for the written test, SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-SM, and Female candidates get a full refund. Others receive a partial refund (Rs. 500 for TA posts and Rs. 400 for others) after bank charges are deducted.
