Eligibility Criteria for NCRTC Jobs
You must meet the educational standards by September 10, 2026. Only full-time regular courses are accepted.
Supervisor Posts (D01 to D05)
Education: 3-year Diploma in the relevant engineering stream (Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Civil).
Note for D01: Any Engineering Degree or Diploma is acceptable for the Operations post.
Higher Education: For D02 to D05, candidates with a B.E., B.Tech, or B.Sc. (Engg.) in the relevant discipline are also eligible.
Junior Maintainer Posts (D06 to D09)
Education: ITI (NCVT/SCVT) Certificate in the specific trade (Electrician/Fitter/RAC/Electronics Mechanic).
Restriction: For maintainer roles, you must have an ITI qualification. Higher qualifications without an ITI certificate will not be considered.
Age Limit for NCRTC Recruitment 2026
The maximum age limit for all posts is 28 years as of September 10, 2026. However, your category may qualify you for an extension.
SC/ST: 5 years relaxation.
OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation.
PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 years relaxation.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The process is straightforward. First, you take a 90-minute Computer Based Test (CBT). It features 100 questions. Here is the best part: there is no negative marking for wrong answers. Reach the qualifying threshold—60% for UR/OBC/EWS and 50% for reserved categories—to stay in the race.
Next comes the medical fitness test. Supervisors must meet the A-3 standard, while Junior Maintainers require the B-1 standard. No Lasik surgery is permitted for these roles.
Bond and Probation Period
Expect to stay. New employees must undergo a two-year probation period. Additionally, you will sign a surety bond to serve for at least three years.
Supervisor (D01-D05): Rs. 4,00,000 bond.
Junior Maintainer (D06-D09): Rs. 3,00,000 bond.
