Eligibility Criteria for PGIMER Vacancy
Requirements vary widely based on the pay level. Here is what you need to qualify for the primary roles.
For Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) & Animal Attendant: You only need to be a 10th-class pass. For Animal Attendant roles, the ability to read and write in Hindi, English, or Punjabi is required.
For Barber: Matriculation is mandatory. You must also have at least two years of experience in the trade.
For Pharmacist Grade-II: You need a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized board. Registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, is mandatory.
For Medical Officer: A medical qualification listed in the I or II Schedule of the IMC Act, 1956, is required. You must be registered with the State Medical Council.
Age Limit for PGIMER Career 2026
Your age will be calculated as of October 19, 2026. Most Group C positions are open to candidates aged 18 to 30 years. Computer Programmers have a slightly broader window of 18 to 35 years.
Relaxations are available for reserved categories. SC/ST candidates get a 5-year buffer. OBC candidates receive a 3-year relaxation. PwBD applicants can claim up to 10 years depending on their category.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern
Selection happens through a Computer Based Test (CBT). The exam is conducted in English only.
Group A Posts: The CBT consists of 85 MCQs for 85 marks. A 15-mark interview follows this.
Group B & C Posts: The exam features 100 MCQs for 100 marks. There is no interview for these categories. Selection is based purely on your CBT score.
Watch out for the penalty. Each wrong answer results in a deduction of 0.25 marks. The minimum qualifying mark is 40% for General/EWS and 35% for SC/ST/OBC.
