Eligibility and Age Limit for SSC Recruitment 2026
To apply, you must be a citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan. The age requirements are strict. You must hit the age bracket as of August 1, 2026.
General Age Limits:
Most Posts: 20 to 25 years. (Born between 02.08.2001 and 01.08.2006).
SI (Fire) in CISF: 18 to 30 years. (Born between 02.08.1996 and 01.08.2008).

Educational Qualifications for 2026 Vacancies

Selection Process for Sub-Inspector Career
The path to wearing the uniform involves four stages. You cannot skip any.
Paper-I: A computer-based exam covering Reasoning, General Knowledge, Maths, and English. (100 Marks total).
Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET): Height and chest measurements followed by running, jumping, and shot put.
Paper-II: An English Language and Comprehension test. (200 Marks).
Detailed Medical Examination (DME): A final health check by medical officers.
